Pinstripes in The Park
To create another way for Continental Airlines to demonstrate that they understand what is important to their customers in the tri-state region, Paragon utilized Continental Airlines’ partnership with the New York Yankees to create the first-ever event “Pinstripes in the Park” which took place on Tuesday, September 27th in New York City’s Bryant Park. Free and open to the public, 8,000 Yankees fans turned out to watch the Yankees play an away game (vs. Baltimore Orioles) on a big screen. Televised live by the YES Network, the event was emceed by Chris Carlin from WFAN. The Festivities began at 5:30 p.m. with Yankees legends Joe Pepitone, Jim Leyritz, Graig Nettles and Goose Gossage on hand to sign autographs. The event was promoted through print, outdoor and radio advertising, televisions spots on the YES Network, and a guerilla marketing campaign in which postcards were distributed outside Bryan Park by a street team. The event was covered by various local media outlets including Fox News, UPN 9 News, NBC 4 News, the YES Network and the Tony Danza show.
