Continental Airlines - OnePass Auction Case Study

Strategy: Enable Continental to promote relationships with their partners while providing added-value to OnePass members by offering them a unique way to use their OnePass miles.

Tactics: Paragon worked with Continental to develop and launch the OnePass Online Auction in June of 2002. The OnePass Online Auction, http://auction.continental.com, allows OnePass members to bid their OnePass miles on sports and entertainment tickets, VIP experiences, merchandise and travel packages. Examples of past auction items include: On-field Baseball Clinic at Yankee Stadium, First Pitch Experience at a Houston Astros Game, New York Giants Tailgate Party, Walk-on Role in Broadway Plays including Chicago’s WICKED and a Steamboat Vacation Package.

Details: Paragon handles a vast amount of the day-to-day needs of the site including creating the auction listings and coordinating fulfillment of auction items and packages. In June of 2007, Paragon helped Continental re-launch the site with a new look and feel along with more user functionality.

The auction site has received national press coverage in USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones Newswire, Washington Post, Newark Star Ledger, Flyer Talk, and CNET.com. Since its launch, OnePass members have spent over 300 million OnePass miles on these unique offerings.
